Privacy policy

How Kicks handles accounts, designs, imported photos, cookies, optional analytics and service providers.

This policy explains how Kicks Design Studio, the operator of Kicks Design Studio, handles information when you use this website. For questions or requests, see the contact page.

Accounts and saved work

If you create an account with email and password, we store your email address and a password hash, not your plain-text password. If you choose Google sign-in when it is available, we receive and use your verified email address, Google account identifier and name to create or link your Kicks account. We record account creation and sign-in times.

When you save a design or photo set to your account, we store its name, images or outlines, thumbnail, editing data and creation or update times. We use this information to show, reopen and update your work. Saving to an account uploads this content to our service; downloading a file saves a copy through your browser. Account designs are accessed through your signed-in account and are not automatically published in a public gallery.

Photos and browser processing

Import photo processes your source photographs in your browser to produce outlines. That workflow saves the finished set of outlines rather than uploading the original photographs for tracing. When signed out, these sets are stored in your browser. When signed in, a set can be saved to your account.

Images placed directly into a design, including uploaded artwork, may be included in that design's saved data. Saving that design to your account therefore uploads the included image data. Avoid putting sensitive personal information into your artwork or project notes.

Some tools download software or model files from service providers, including jsDelivr and Google-hosted resources. Those providers receive the network information needed to deliver their files, such as your IP address and browser request details. The photo cut-out calculations run on your device.

Drawing from a phone or tablet

If you connect a drawing pad, the service temporarily relays a canvas snapshot and drawing strokes between the devices using a session code. Anyone with that code can join the session while it is active, so share it only with devices or people you intend to connect.

A drawing-pad session expires after two hours without activity that renews the session. Expired sessions are rejected by the application; removal of stored records can occur later through the storage provider's expiry process.

Cookies, local storage and analytics

StoragePurpose and duration
kicks_sessionEssential cookie for sign-in and contact-form security. Persistent sign-in sessions are configured for up to 30 days. Signing out clears the session.
kicks.mySets.v1Photo-set outlines saved locally in this browser. These remain until removed or browser storage is cleared.
kicks.privacy.v1Your optional analytics choice in local storage. We ask again after 180 days. Clearing browser storage resets the choice.
_ga and _ga_1LKJP9EMBSGoogle Analytics identifiers, used only after you allow analytics. This site configures a 180-day cookie lifetime, which may be renewed with activity.

Optional Google Analytics helps us understand page visits and interaction with the site. It can process page addresses, referring pages, browser and device information, interactions and cookie identifiers. Your device also sends network information to Google when making those requests. Our analytics code loads only after you choose Allow analytics. We disable Google signals and advertising-personalization signals in this integration.

Use Cookie settings in the footer to change your choice. Essential only disables further analytics collection through this integration and removes the analytics cookies it controls; it does not undo information already sent. The choice applies to this browser. Analytics data already collected is subject to the property's retention settings and Google's processing practices.

Advertising and Google's data use

Advertising is currently disabled on this site. We retain a Google AdSense publisher-verification tag and an ads.txt entry; these do not themselves load advertisements. The analytics choice is not consent to personalized advertising.

If advertising is enabled in the future, we will update this notice and provide the required advertising consent controls. Advertising providers, including Google, may then place or read cookies or use web beacons, IP addresses and other identifiers for ad delivery, measurement, fraud prevention and, where permitted by your choices, personalization. Google requires a certified consent-management platform for personalized ads in the EEA, UK and Switzerland.

Read how Google uses information from sites and apps that use its services, the Google privacy policy and Google's ad preference controls.

Service providers and operational information

The service uses Google Cloud hosting and storage, including Firestore for account and drawing-pad records. Resend delivers requested password-reset emails and contact-form messages. Google Identity Services handles optional Google sign-in. These providers process the information needed for their respective functions.

Hosting and security systems can process request information such as IP addresses, timestamps, requested paths, browser details and errors to deliver the service, investigate faults and protect accounts. Provider infrastructure may process information outside your country. We do not send your password or private saved designs to Google Analytics.

Contact messages

When you use our contact form, we process your name, email address, selected topic and message to answer your request. Resend forwards the message to our support mailbox, currently hosted by Google Gmail. We do not add you to a mailing list. Analytics is disabled on the contact page.

Contact messages are held in the support mailbox and by the email delivery provider under their retention settings. We keep correspondence while handling your request and for follow-up or record-keeping where needed; you can contact us to request deletion. Message text is not saved in our application database. To limit spam, we store keyed hashes of the sender email and a browser identifier alongside submission counters. These counters are replaced when a new time window is used.

Retention and your choices

We keep active account details and saved work so you can continue using the service. Deleting a design removes it from the account's active saved records. Deleting your account through the account page removes the active account and its saved designs and sets. Copies you downloaded, browser-local sets and information retained in provider operational logs are separate from those active records.

Download project files before deleting work you want to keep. Clear browser storage to remove locally saved sets and preferences. Provider logs and operational records follow their configured retention and any applicable obligations; account deletion does not instantly erase those separate records.

Depending on the law that applies to you, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information, restrict or object to its use, or request a portable copy. Contact us to make a request. We may ask for information needed to verify your identity and protect another user's data. You may also raise concerns with the privacy authority in your jurisdiction.

Updates

We will update this page when the service's data practices change. The effective date above identifies this version. A material change to optional tracking will require an appropriate new notice or choice before it takes effect.
