About Kicks

What Kicks Design Studio does, who it is for and how we prepare our guides and manufacturer directory.

A studio for the early design conversation

Kicks is a browser-based workspace for exploring shoe colors, panel treatments, patterns and artwork. It is for people who want to make an idea visible before taking it to a footwear developer: students practicing a colorway, independent designers preparing a brief, or someone experimenting with a shoe they already own.

You can begin with a supplied outline, turn your own photos into a set of views, draw on the canvas and export images with design notes. Downloading a project lets you keep an editable copy. An optional account lets you save designs and photo sets across devices.

What the studio can tell you

Kicks records visual choices and the information you enter. Its material labels express intentions, and its on-screen colors are references. The studio does not calculate fit, produce cutting patterns or validate a shoe's construction. A production project still needs technical development, physical samples and suitable testing.

How we prepare these resources

Our guides describe the controls and exports available in Kicks. The runner study uses the Runners template already available in the studio to explain a color-planning exercise. Its proposed palette is a learning example, not a finished or tested product.

The manufacturer directory summarizes providers' own public descriptions and links to the sources. Source-check dates show when we reviewed those pages. A listing is a research starting point, not an inspection, certification or guarantee. We remove unsupported fixed prices and order quantities rather than present estimates as a supplier's offer.

If a guide no longer matches the editor or a directory entry needs correction, please tell us with the page address and relevant details.
